FUCKING ADAM ! On June 14th, 2014, the French visual artist Angèle Lebert has given a one-night performance in New York for the opening of her show. Passion, craziness, art, instincts— the piece combines the artist’s relationships to her models with wall-scale paintings of her new fairy tale for adults. This creation is inspired in part by her intimacy with Adam, her last American model, the last “wolf” in her life. But Adam is also an archetype of men who came before him and may come after. Between past and present, childhood and adult life, the work plays on stereotypes through the artist’s practice: drawings, paintings, video, experimental tango, and spoken word.
